# Digital Catalog - Custom Field per Product

Digital Catalog now introduces Custom Fields, giving merchants a simple way to collect product-specific order details directly during checkout. This ensures every order arrives complete with the information needed to fulfill it correctly, without manual follow-up.

Beginning 26 Juni 2026, merchants can configure up to three custom fields per product, and customers will see these fields directly on the product page before completing their purchase.

### 🔍 What’s New?

Digital Catalog product pages now support configurable **Custom Fields**, completed by customers before checkout.

This update ensures:

* Accurate, product-specific order details collected upfront
* Reduced manual follow-up via chat or email
* Greater flexibility in managing how and when products go live

### The New Checkout Flow

#### 🔄 **Before This Update**

Today, the purchase flow goes straight from product page to checkout, with no way to collect additional order-specific details. While functional, this creates a gap for merchants selling personalized, customizable, or booking-based products and important details like engraving text, variant preference, or delivery instructions can only be collected manually after payment.

Steps:

1. Customer visits product page
2. Customer proceeds directly to checkout
3. Customer completes payment
4. Merchant manually follows up to collect missing order details (if needed)

#### 🆕 **After This Update**

With Custom Fields, the purchase flow now includes a step for customers to provide product-specific details before checkout and ensuring merchants receive complete order information from the start.

Steps:

1. Customer visits product page
2. Custom fields are displayed (e.g., engraving text, product preference, participant name)
3. Customer completes required information
4. Customer proceeds to checkout and completes payment
5. Merchant receives order details together with the transaction

**Benefit**

Merchants get exactly the information they need to fulfill the order right — no extra steps, no manual chasing.
